Vamora ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using Vamora, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Phone number, used to create and verify your account via OTP.
- Name, age, gender, and profile photo, used to build your profile.
- Bio and interests, used by our AI matching system.
- Email address, optional and used for account recovery.
- Messages sent in blind chats, stored to deliver your conversations.
- Reports and feedback you submit about other users.
Information collected automatically:
- Location, when you grant permission, used for proximity-based matching. Your precise location is never shown to other users.
- Device information, including device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting.
- Usage data such as feature interactions, match views, and chat activity.
- Push notification tokens used to send in-app notifications.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account.
- Generate AI-powered match suggestions based on your profile, interests, and location.
- Deliver and store your anonymous blind chat conversations.
- Send push notifications about new matches, messages, and app updates.
- Process payments through Razorpay for premium features.
- Review reports and enforce community safety rules.
- Improve AI models and matching algorithms using aggregated, anonymised data.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting outside of Vamora.
4. AI and Automated Processing
Vamora uses artificial intelligence for match suggestions, compatibility scores, conversation suggestions, and optional bio generation.
AI decisions do not replace human judgement. Match suggestions are recommendations, not guarantees. You are always free to ignore or decline any match.
Chat content is processed by AI only when you explicitly use the AI suggestions feature. Your private messages are not continuously monitored by AI.
5. How We Share Your Information
- Razorpay, for payment processing. We do not store your card details.
- Supabase, our database and file storage provider.
- OpenAI, when you use AI features. Relevant text, not your name or phone number, may be sent to generate responses.
- Firebase or push notification providers for notification delivery.
- Law enforcement, if required by law, court order, or to protect user/public safety.
We do not share your profile, location, or messages with other users beyond what you explicitly choose to reveal through the platform's reveal system.
6. Anonymous Identity and the Reveal System
Before you choose to reveal your identity, Vamora assigns you an anonymous alias and avatar. Other users see only this alias and avatar. Your real name, photo, and personal details remain hidden.
The reveal feature is voluntary. Both users must independently request a reveal for real identities to be shared. If either user declines, real identities are never exchanged.
Once a reveal occurs, both users can see each other's real name and profile photo within the app. This information is not published publicly.
7. Data Retention
- Your profile is deleted within 30 days after account deletion.
- Chat messages are deleted within 30 days after account deletion.
- Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations.
- Anonymised usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.
- Reports may be retained for safety and audit purposes.
8. Data Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Passwords and OTPs are never stored in plain text.
- Database access is restricted to authorised personnel only.
- Profile photos are stored in a private Supabase storage bucket.
No system is completely secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly at privacy@vamora.app.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection to certain uses of your data. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@vamora.app. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children's Privacy
Vamora is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will suspend and delete it.
11. Location Data
Location permission is requested to enable proximity-based matching. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time. We do not track your location in the background when the app is closed.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes may be notified via push notification or in-app message. Continued use of Vamora after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
